Commercial roofing and cladding planned around live sites
Protect your building. Keep your business moving.
Total Cladding & Roofing (TCR) is a UK team of commercial roofing and cladding contractors. We protect your building and keep your business moving through surveys, repairs, refurbishment and replacement planned around people, stock and live operations.
Answer a short series of plain-English questions. You will receive a recommended next step and TCR will receive the information needed for a useful first conversation.
Step 1 of 7
Start with what you need to solve
Choose the route that matches your building.
Tell us whether the issue is urgent, the roof needs a plan or a project is ready. We will take you through the questions that matter for that route.
01
Immediate risk review
A leak or defect needs attention
Tell us where the water or damage is showing so the immediate risk and repair route can be reviewed.
Show where water, damage or loss of weathering is visible.
Explain what must remain operational and whether stock, people or equipment are exposed.
TCR reviews the immediate risk before confirming the repair or investigation route.
Explore how the roof, details, gutters, walls, access and evidence connect.
A roofing or cladding decision rarely sits in isolation. Select a layer to see the questions TCR considers before recommending repair, refurbishment, overcladding or replacement.
Roof sheets, rooflights, gutters, penetrations, wall junctions and cladding can affect one another. We assess the connected details before recommending repair, refurbishment or replacement.
Triage, temporary protection, diagnosis and a permanent repair plan for water ingress or damage.

The result matters. So does how the work is delivered.
Live-site delivery / Powell McNeil
Case study 01
Asbestos roof overcladding around a live industrial operation
Powell McNeil needed a cost-effective route for an ageing asbestos-cement roof. TCR delivered a six-week overclad programme around restricted access while the facility remained operational.
You should know what information is needed, what will be checked, how the options are compared and what you will receive when the work is complete.
01
Tell us about the building
Share the building use, issue, location, timing and the decision you need to make.
02
Survey and investigate
Review the roof or cladding condition, access, interfaces, risks and available records.
03
Compare the options
Set out the practical repair, refurbishment or replacement routes and what each is intended to achieve.
04
Plan and deliver
Agree access, programme, site controls, installation and communication around the operating building.
05
Receive the handover
Collect completion evidence, warranties, maintenance guidance and the next actions for the asset.
The building still has a job to do
The work must fit around the way the building operates.
A warehouse, factory, supermarket and office do not operate in the same way. Access, stock, working hours, fire strategy and tenant responsibilities are considered before the programme is agreed.
Yes. TCR reviews and delivers planned commercial roofing, cladding and building-envelope projects across the UK. Attendance, mobilisation and suitability depend on the location, scope, access and urgency.
02Can you work around an operating business?
Yes, where the project and site conditions allow it. The plan can consider access routes, segregation, temporary weathering, noisy work, deliveries, stock protection and any shutdown periods before work starts.
03How do you decide whether a roof should be repaired, refurbished or replaced?
The decision depends on the roof system, condition, defect pattern, remaining serviceability, insulation requirements, interfaces, budget and how long the asset needs to perform. A survey may be needed before a reliable recommendation can be made.
04Do you survey the roof before recommending work?
For condition-led projects, a roof survey is usually the best place to begin. It provides evidence of visible defects, priorities and the areas that need further investigation before repair, refurbishment or replacement is scoped.
05Can you handle both roofing and wall cladding?
Yes. TCR can coordinate commercial roofing, wall cladding, rainscreen interfaces, rooflights, gutters and associated envelope details where the project requires one joined-up package.
06Can you work from an existing specification or tender package?
Yes. Send the drawings, specification, pricing schedule, programme and return date. TCR can review the scope, interfaces, access requirements and buildability before confirming the tender response.
07What information helps you prepare an accurate next step?
The site postcode, building use, photographs, approximate affected area, existing roof or cladding type, access constraints, target dates and any surveys or drawings will make the first review more useful.
08Can I send photographs, surveys, drawings or tender documents?
Yes. The guided project brief allows supporting files to be added. Large or numerous documents can also be shared through a secure project link after the initial brief is received.
TCR
Ready to move the building forward?
Tell us what is happening. We’ll help you decide what comes next.
Start with the postcode, building use and the issue or project in front of you. Add photographs, drawings, surveys or tender documents where they are available.
Use this route for a complete domestic re-roof. TCR does not provide a general repair call-out service for roofs installed by other contractors.

Thank you for checking
This project is outside our complete re-roofing service.
Based on the information supplied, the roof is below the minimum square meterage for our complete domestic re-roofing service.
Choose scaffolding or the internal safety-netting system required below the roof works.
Site type
What type of site requires the work?
Scaffold size
What are the total scaffold dimensions?
Add together the length of every side that needs scaffold, then enter the maximum scaffold height and number of working lifts. A lift is one working platform level. The base online allowance includes up to three working lifts; additional platform levels increase the calculation.
Safety-netting area
What is the total netting area?
The instant netting price is calculated only from the total square meterage supplied. Lengths, scaffold lifts and hire periods are not used.
Access + site controls
What needs allowing for?
Programme information
Tell us about the space below the roof.
These answers help us programme the installation. They do not change the online square-metre price.
Location + timing
Where and when is the work needed?
Drawings + photographs
Add anything that helps confirm the work.
Plans, roof layouts and photographs can improve the technical review. They do not alter the instant netting rate per square metre.
