The starting requirement
The original asbestos-cement roof was approaching the end of its service life. Full removal and replacement did not suit the available budget, so the project needed a compliant route that would reduce disruption while improving weathering and insulation.

Overclad solution
TCR installed new profiled steel roof sheets over the existing roof on a spacer system, encapsulating the asbestos in situ and creating a new weathering layer. Components were coordinated for compatibility, insulation and long-term low-maintenance performance.

Restricted access and live operations
A narrow side road limited scaffolding, deliveries and material movement. The access solution and phased programme were planned around those constraints so the facility could continue operating throughout the six-week works.
